This fundamental aspect of design maintains a visual link between elements such as images, shapes, or text blocks. Alignment helps in the formation of a sharp and ordered appearance by discarding any distortion within the layout. It symbolizes the scale of each element by comparing their proportion and focusing on those that can have an important impact on users.

3. Hierarchy

This method combines two aspects, dominance and priority, by giving more weight to particular design elements over others. It helps brands in conveying their message to their intended audience by focusing on a specific design element. Hierarchy can be achieved by:

  • Using huge or bold fonts to highlight the title
  • Placing the main message over all other elements
  • Adding shapes to frame the focal view

4. Contrast

Contrast is an important principle in any form of visual art because it directs the attention of the customer to the key elements of a design. Rhythm brings together various elements to create a more organized and consistent visual effect. Repetition of certain elements, such as logos or color combinations, can help a brand stand out and strengthen its visual design. Rhythm is classified into two types

Fluid - This adds a huge variation to the design while keeping the flow in one direction. Progressive - Progressive rhythm is based on a strong sequence that controls the audience's visual movement between the various elements.

By establishing a relationship between related elements, proximity helps in decluttering the overall design. It creates a visual link between important design elements such as color, font, type, and size, ensuring the layout is balanced to form a perfect design. It provides the audience with a pleasant overview of what they are looking at, resulting in a positive user experience.

7. Color and Space

Choosing the right color can help define the design's tone. Designers can select from a variety of color combinations for the layout's background and text.
